What is the busiest time of the season?

The busiest time is from the end of June until the end of July on the weekends. Weekdays during that time are not as busy. We always recommend making a reservation in advance.

How many people fit on each campsite?

Usually campsites accommodate 10-12 people per site. Call 1-800-392-3700 and ask a reservationist for information on specific sites.

How many people fit on a W&E or Full Hookup campsite?

Usually 1 camper trailer & one tent can fit on one W&E/Full site. If there is not a camper trailer there is a 3 tents on one W&E/Full site maximum.

Are pets allowed?

On float trips: Yes, pets are allowed on the floats they just need to be kept on a leash.
On the premises: Yes, pets are allowed in the campground as long as they are kept on a leash.
In Lodging: We do not recommend, but if you wish to bring them, there is a $50.00 animal security deposit. You are responsible for letting us know you have a pet in our lodging and any damages that occur. Please don't leave pets inside units for any length of time.

Are there dump stations located on the grounds?

Yes, we have a dump station located in the 200's by Shower house II.

What is the difference between W&E sites and Full hookup sites?

W&E sites have water & electric hookup. The Full Hookup sites have water, electric, and a sewer hookup.

What do I need to bring?

Some suggested items are: a tent, tent stakes, rope, sleeping bag, air mattress, pillow, camp stove, lantern, lawn chairs, insect repellent, toiletries, cookware, cooler, food and drinks. (If you forget something we have a great variety of supplies at our Bass' Headquarters.)

How far are you from St. Louis?

We are 1 1/2 hours from I-270 and I-44.

When do you open for the season?

We are open year round for floating, camping and a few cabins. We always suggest making reservations in advance at 1-800-392-3700.

Do you have a campground store & if so what's in it?

Yes we have a campground store. We carry camping & floating supplies, t-shirts, souvenirs, grocery items, wood, ice, soft drinks, alcohol & cigarettes.

Are ATV's, 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, go carts or golf carts allowed on the premises?

They are not allowed in the campground.

Are horses allowed in the campground?

Horses are allowed before Memorial Day weekend and after Labor Day weekend. The cost is the same as camping fees.

Do we need reservations for camping?

Yes, we recommend a reservation on weekends, especially Memorial weekend to Labor Day weekend. Weekdays don't require a reservation, but we always recommend calling to let us know you are coming in to camp.

Do you have quiet hours in the Resort?

Yes all lodging, the Shady Bend Area, and the River Bend Area are all located in the family area. The quiet hours for family area starts at 11pm and lasts until 6am. The Island Area (sites 1-199D & site 203) is in the loud area and the quiet hours begin at 2:30am and last until 6am.

Which campsites are in the quiet/family area?

Campsites 201-739 are considered to be in the quiet/family area. (Excluding Campsite 203)

Where do I put my trash?

Green dumpsters are located at several locations throughout the campground. Please put trash bags in dumpsters.

What types of fish are in the streams and where is the best location to fish?

Small & large mouth Bass, Goggle Eye, Blue Gill, and Sunfish. You may fish along the bank anywhere in our campground. There is a nice hole above the 200's camping area.

When is the latest we can cancel and get our money back?

We have a 10 day cancellation policy, as long as you cancel at least 10 days prior to your arrival you will get your deposit back less a $20 service charge. If you cancel less than 10 days prior to your arrival you will forfeit your deposit in full.

How late can we check in?

Memorial Day thru Labor Day weekend we are open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights. In the off-season you need to let the office know your arrival time.

How far in advance should I make my camping reservations?

Camping reservations should be made at least 2 weeks, if not 2 months prior to your arrival. We tend to book up quickly for weekends Memorial Day thru Labor Day. Last minute reservations can be made depending on availability.

What is the cost of using the pool?

The daily charge is $2.50 p/person. A family pass is $12 which includes immediate family (2 adults and their children) and is good for 3 days. Lodging customers receive a complementary pool pass. No lifeguard is on duty.

When are group packages due?

100% per person is required within 10 days of making the reservation. If group organizer needs extra time to collect deposits we can allow extra time.

What do you require for deposits?

We require a $35 deposit per site or 100% prepayment of camping charges in advance. In the Island Area we hold the $35 site deposit until checkout. The deposit will be refunded upon check-out if the campsite is clean throughout your stay and is clean at check-out. Please be sure to have your site checked prior to leaving to get your deposit refunded. W&E and Full Hookup charges need to be paid in full before arrival.

Is camping prices in the loud area the same as in the family area?

No. Camping in the loud area is $13.84 p/adult/night on Friday & Saturday nights. Sunday thru Thursday it is $10.65 p/adult/night. Camping in the family area is $10.65 p/adult/night Friday & Saturday nights. Sunday thru Thursday it is $9.05 p/adult/night. Children 8-12 is $5.06 p/child/night and children 7 and under are FREE for loud or family area camping!

Are there additional fees for a water and electric or full hookup site?

Yes. You pay the p/person camping fees and also the one charge for the hookup of $11.71 p/site/night.

Which campsites are in the loud area?

Campsites 2-199D & Campsite 203 are considered to be in the loud area and require a site security deposit of $35 per site.

Do you have showers and restrooms?

We have 4 shower houses throughout our resort. The showers are coin operated; the cost is 50¢ for approximately a 5 minute shower.

Do you have handicapped accessible cabins?

We do have handicapped accessible cabins. They are Log Cabin 19 (12 person maximum) and Cozy 7a and 8a (4 person maximum.)

A 50% deposit is required within 10 days of making reservation. Balance on cabin is due 10 days prior to arrival with a list of people in each cabin.

Are the cabins located on the water?

No, our cabins are not right on the water, but some of them do overlook the Courtois River. Most are within walking distance of the river.

Are pets allowed?

On float trips: Yes, pets are allowed on the floats they just need to be kept on a leash.
On the premises: Yes, pets are allowed in the campground as long as they are kept on a leash.

Which is the most popular float?

Normally the six mile float from Blunt - Bass which usually takes 3-4 hours in a canoe, a raft usually takes 4-6 hours.

Do you specifically reserve Old Town canoes?

No, we do not reserve canoes by aluminum or Old Town, it depends on availability. We recommend to float early in the day if you prefer Old Town canoes.

Are glass bottles allowed on the float trip?

Glass bottles are not allowed on the rivers by law.

What types of fish are in the streams and where is the best location to fish?

Small & large mouth Bass, Goggle Eye, Blue Gill, and Sunfish. You may fish along the bank anywhere in our campground. There is a nice hole above the 200's camping area.

Which rivers do you float?

We are located on the Courtois River; we also float the Huzzah & Meramec.

Is your stream swift?

No, it is classified as class 1, which is as easy as it gets, except the upper parts in spring when the water is up! Call for water conditions.

What do I need to bring?

Some suggested items are a cooler, sunscreen, insect repellent, dry bag, towels, water shoes, bungee cords, food and drinks. (If you forget something we have a great variety of supplies at our Bass' Headquarters!)

Do we need reservations for floating?

Yes, we recommend a reservation in advance for Saturday's from Memorial Day thru Labor Day Weekend. We require full payment in advance to guarantee your float. Sunday's (except holiday weekends) and weekday's do not necessarily require a deposit, but we would like you to call a day in advance and let us know you are coming in.

What time do your floats go out?

Our floats can leave anytime between 8am and 2pm Monday thru Friday. Saturday floats leave anytime between 7am and 2pm.

We have a 10 day cancellation policy, as long as you cancel at least 10 days prior to your arrival you will get your deposit back less a $20 service charge. If you cancel less than 10 days prior to your arrival you will forfeit your deposit in full.

Do you offer 2-day float trips?

We do offer 2-day float trips at a 15% discount if both days are paid at one time.

What do you require for deposits?

Reservations are recommended in advance for floating. We do require a 100% deposit within 10 days of making reservation. If payment is not received reservation is not guaranteed. Weekday reservations are not required but are appreciated.

Do we need reservations for horseback riding?

Yes, we recommend a reservation, we would like 24 hour advance notice. We require a 50% advance deposit.

Do you have showers and restrooms?

How much is horseback riding & can you go out on your own?

Horseback riding is $26.62 for a 1-hour trail ride, and the ride is guided. Kids have to be at least 8yrs old to ride. For children under 8 kiddie rides are available, which are $7.45 p/child & we lead them around the stable area for approximately 10 minutes. We do not allow our guests to bring their own horses.

Do you allow children to ride horses with adults?

No, we do not allow two people on a horse at the same time.

Do you have Cabins?

Yes. We have Log Cabins, Cozy Cabins, the A-Frame house, Hideaway house and new for 2009 the Buck Lodge and Doe Lodge.
