Do we need reservations for camping, lodging, floating, or horseback riding?

Camping: Yes, we recommend a reservation on weekends, especially Memorial weekend to Labor Day weekend. Weekdays don't require a reservation, but we always recommend calling to let us know you are coming in to camp.
Cabins: Yes, we recommend a reservation in advance for all cabins. We normally have cabins available on weekdays, but recommend a reservation.
Floating: Yes, we recommend a reservation in advance on Saturday's from Memorial weekend thru Labor Day Weekend. Sunday's, (except holiday weekends) and weekday's don't require a deposit necessarily, but we would like you to call a day in advance and let us know you are coming in.
Horseback Riding: Yes, we recommend a reservation, would like 24 hour advance notice. We require a 50% deposit in advance!

What do I need to bring for camping, lodging, floating, or fishing?

Camping: Some suggested items are tent, stakes, rope, sleeping bag/mattress, pillow, camp stove, lantern, lawn chairs, insect repellent, toiletries, cookware, cooler, food, and drinks.
Cabins: All linens, pillows, towels, utensils, cookware, lawn chairs, toiletries, food, and drinks.
Floating: Some suggested items are cooler, sunscreen, insect repellent, dry bag, towels, water shoes, bungee cords, food, and drinks.
Fishing: You need to bring license/permit, pole, tackle, knife, and bait. You may purchase licenses in our store.

If you forget something for your trip, we have a great variety of supplies at our Bass' Headquarters.

How far are you from St. Louis?
1 ½ hours from I-270 & I-44.

How many people fit on each campsite?
Usually campsites accommodate 10-12 people per site. Call 1-800-392-3700 and ask a reservationist for specific information on specific sites.

How many people fit on a W&E or Full Hookup campsite?
Usually 1 camper trailer & one tent can fit on one W&E/full site or 3 tents on one site, maximum.

When do you open for the season?
We are open year round for floating, camping & a few cabins. We always suggest making reservation in advance at 1-800-392-3700.

Are pets allowed?
On float trips: Yes, pets are allowed on the floats they just need to be kept on a leash.
On the premises: Yes, pets are allowed in the campground as long as they are kept on a leash.
In Lodging: We do not recommend, but if you wish to bring them, there is a $50.00 security deposit. You are responsible for letting us know you have a pet in our lodging and any damages that occur. Please don't leave pets inside units for any length of time.

What is the cost of using the pool?
The daily charge is $2.50 p/person or a weekend charge is $5.00 p/person. A family pass is $12.00 which includes immediate family of 2 adults, 4 children and is good for 3 days. Lodging customers receive a complementary pool pass. No lifeguard is on duty.

Do you have campground store & if so what's in it?
Yes, we have two campground stores. We carry camping supplies, t-shirts, souvenirs, grocery items, wood, ice, soft drinks & cigarettes.

Are horses and ATV's allowed on the premises?
ATV's are not allowed in the campground. Horses are only allowed before memorial weekend and after Labor Day and the cost is the same fee as camping.

Do you have Cabins?
Yes. We have log cabins, cozy cabins, the A-frame and the Riverbend house trailer.

Do you have showers and restrooms?
We have 4 shower houses throughout our Resort. The showers are coin opperated, it is .50 cents for approximately a 5 minute shower.

Are there dump stations located on the grounds?
Yes, we have a dump station located in the 200's by Shower house II.

Are the cabins located on the water?
No, our cabins are not right on the water, but they do overlook the Courtois river.

What is the difference between W&E sites and Full hookup sites? A W&E site has a water hookup & electric, the full hookup has water hookup, electric, and a sewer hookup.

Do you have quiet hours in the Resort?
Yes all lodging, the Shady Bend area, and the River Bend area are all in the 11:00 p.m. quiet area.

Which is the most popular float?
Normally the six mile float from Blunt - Bass which normally takes 3-4 hours in a canoe, a raft usually takes 4-6 hours.

Do you specifically reserve Old Town canoes?
No, we do not reserve by aluminum or old town, it depends on availability, we recommend if you prefer old town to float early in the day.

What is the busiest time of the season?
The end of June until the end of July on weekends is the busiest time. Weekdays during that time are not as busy. We always recommend making a reservation in advance.

How far in advance should I make my reservations?
Reservations should be made at least two weeks prior if not 2 months in advance. Last minute reservations are always possible depending on availability.

Are glass bottles allowed on the float trip?
Glass bottles are not allowed by law.

Where do I put my trash?
Green dumpsters are located at several locations throughout the campground. Please put trash bags in dumpsters.

What types of fish are in the streams and where is the best location to fish?
Small & large mouth Bass, goggle eye, blue gill, and sunfish. You may fish along the bank anywhere in our campground. There is a nice hole above the 200's camping area.

How much is horseback riding & can you go out on your own?
Horseback riding is $35.00 for a 1-hour trail ride, and the ride is guided. Kids have to be at least 8yrs old to ride. For children under 8 kiddie rides are available, which are $7.00 p/person & we lead them around the stable area for approximately 10 minutes.

Which rivers do you float?
We are located on the Courtois River; we also float the Huzzah & Meramec.

Is your stream swift?
No, it is classified as class 1, which is as easy as it gets, except the upper parts in spring when water is up!
