Horseback Riding

Riders of all skill levels enjoy our guided horseback rides!  Enjoy a wonderful equstrian adventure riding through our Ozark River Country on a one or two hour horseback ride.  Our scenic trails wind along the beautiful Courtois River and through the scenic hills of the Mark Twain National Forest to our special mountain overlook.  We also offer a breathtaking Sunset Ride beginning at 6:30 pm and lasting approximately 1 1/2 hours.  Our famous scenic overlook is absolutely spectacular as the sun sets! So no one is left out of the fun, we offer children 7 years and under a pony ride at the stable that lasts approximately 10 minutes.

Located in the Heart of the Ozarks, we are near many of Missouri's greatest attractions. This area of Missouri contains some of the state's caves, wineries, and great golf courses. Come stay with us and enjoy a wide variety activities.

Ozark Trail

The Ozark Trail is part of a vision to build a scenic and varied route through the Missouri Ozarks stretching from Onondaga Cave (west of St. Louis) to the Arkansas Border. This extraordinarily scenic and diverse trail consists of almost 550 miles that have been completed with 350 miles in Missouri. Bass' River Resort is located on the Courtois Section of the Ozark Trail and is happy to offer our services to users of the Courtois and Trace Creek Sections. We have numerous and varied accommodations should you want a comfortable home base from which to explore the trail and a shuttle service to take you to or from trail heads. Should you want to expand your Ozark Trail experience with a float trip on one of our awesome streams, we have a full range of floating crafts and float trip options on the Courtois, Huzzah, and Meramec rivers for you to choose from.

Meramec Music Theatre

The Meramec Music Theatre was started around 20 years ago in downtown Steelville in an old car dealership.. by our local Dentist.. Dr. Colbert. In 2000 it was relocated to a new facility on Hwy 8 west.. It's a 600 seat sloped curved seating huge stage... The theatre offers a wide variety of musical entertainment ranging from gospel to bluegrass to down home country music.

Around the Campground

Our facilities include a swimming pool, picnic tables, fire rings, four bathhouses with coin operated hot showers and flush toilets, one General Store (Bass' Headquarters), three pavilions, dump stations, Johnny-on-the-Spots, full water and electric hookups, horseshoe pits, volleyball, swimming, fishing and hiking trails.
